Overview
We are supporting a well-established engineering and plant-construction company in the chemical industry in the search for a Senior Process Engineer.
The company designs and delivers chemical production plants worldwide and has completed hundreds of projects across multiple continents. As Senior Process Engineer you are responsible for the process-engineering scope of projects — from proposal phase through commissioning of new plants.
Key responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the process-engineering work package within multi-disciplinary project teams
- Develop process concepts from proposal stage to basic and detailed design
- Prepare process documentation, including:
- block flow diagrams (BFD)
- process flow diagrams (PFD)
- process descriptions and operating philosophies
- production plans and mass balances
- Define and specify process parameters for individual plant sections and equipment
- Participate in and support HAZOP studies and other safety-related reviews
- Contribute to the R&D and optimisation of chemical production processes
- Support commissioning and start-up of new plants on site, in collaboration with operations and engineering teams
- Ensure that process design meets safety, reliability and performance requirements across the full project lifecycle
Your profile
- Completed university degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry or a related discipline
- Experience in the chemical industry, ideally with a focus on process safety or safety-related design
- Solid understanding of unit operations, process design and mass / energy balances
- Structured, analytical way of working and a high sense of responsibility
- Enjoy working at the interface between engineering disciplines, project management and operations
- Good German and English skills for use in an international project environment; additional languages are an advantage
- The role is also open to high-potential early-career engineers who bring strong fundamentals and motivation to grow into a senior function
