Overview
We are supporting a major German telecommunications provider in the search for a Senior Network Architect 5G. The company is building one of the most advanced 5G networks in Europe, using Open-RAN technology, cloud-native architectures and large-scale fibre backbone integration.
In this role, you act as a central technical interface between customer operations, engineering, planning and network performance teams. You ensure that complex 5G network architectures remain robust, scalable and aligned across all domains.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure a resilient, scalable 5G and ORAN network architecture
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams, ensuring observability of network performance
- Translate network deviations into technical requirements and long-term architectural improvements
- Collaborate closely with planning, engineering, operations and IT teams
- Support alignment across domains and maintain architectural consistency
- Contribute to improving reliability, performance indicators and network stability
Your profile
- Several years of experience in telecom networks and network architecture
- Strong background in mobile networks (4G/5G, ORAN, network slicing, telco cloud, AI ops)
- Deep knowledge of telecom protocols (LTE, 5G SA, IMS, ORAN, EPC, IP/MPLS, SDN/NFV, eSIM)
- Experience with cloud environments (Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware, AWS, etc.)
- Strong communication skills; able to lead architectural discussions with senior stakeholders
- Experience working in complex, multi-vendor environments
- Excellent German and English language skills
