Overview
We are supporting an engineering and plant-construction company in the chemical and process industry in the search for a Project Engineer for technical sales support.
In this role you work in the sales environment and act as the technical interface between customers, sales and engineering. You analyse customer requirements, develop technical solutions, prepare offers and support projects from the first inquiry through to factory acceptance.
Key responsibilities
- Support the sales team in evaluating customer inquiries and defining technical solutions
- Manage technical and commercial aspects of small and medium sized projects from inquiry to final acceptance
- Design and review mechanical systems using 2D and 3D CAD tools (for example AutoCAD family)
- Prepare technical concepts, equipment lists and system descriptions for offers and contracts
- Clarify technical details with customers, suppliers and external engineering partners
- Review and approve technical drawings and documentation before submission to the client
- Plan and track project scope, deadlines and deliverables and report progress to stakeholders
- Organise and carry out factory and site acceptance tests (FAT and SAT) for machinery and equipment
- Identify technical risks and propose feasible solutions together with the project team
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations, including ATEX requirements
Your profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar technical discipline
- Several years of experience in engineering or project work in industrial or process-plant environments
- Good knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD design (for example AutoCAD and related tools)
- Understanding of ATEX requirements and their application in equipment and plant design
- Experience with factory and site acceptance testing is a strong advantage
- Strong communication skills and confidence in direct contact with customers and suppliers
- Structured and reliable working style with the ability to manage several tasks in parallel
- Problem solving mindset and willingness to take responsibility in a commercial project context
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
- English at B2 level or higher and German at least at A2 level
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with project management tools (for example MS Project, Primavera or similar)
- Background in chemical process engineering or comparable industrial sectors
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and safety standards
