Project Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical / Process)

Overview

We are supporting a confidential engineering client in Salzburg, Austria in the search for an experienced Project Engineer.

The role is suited to candidates with a strong background in mechanical, electrical or process engineering, combined with solid experience in 2D and 3D CAD tools. You support the Project Manager across all technical phases of the project and help ensure that designs meet specifications and are coordinated with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Project Manager throughout all project phases
  • Develop and review detailed designs using 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit or similar)
  • Communicate with clients, suppliers and external engineering partners to ensure compliance with technical requirements
  • Perform quality checks and approvals on drawings and technical documentation
  • Monitor and track scope, timelines and deliverables of external engineering packages
  • Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for machinery and equipment
  • Resolve technical issues promptly and keep stakeholders informed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure smooth project execution
  • Support troubleshooting during commissioning and project execution

Your profile

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Strong technical skills in 2D and 3D CAD (for example AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit)
  • At least 10 years of experience in engineering design and/or project engineering
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers and external engineering partners
  • Experience conducting FAT and SAT for industrial equipment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
  • English at B2 level or above
  • German at A2 level or above

Desirable

  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Projectron or similar)
  • Experience in chemical process engineering or related industries
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations
