Overview
We are supporting a long-established engineering and plant-construction company in the chemical industry in the search for an experienced Electrical Engineer (Automation & Instrumentation).
In this role you are responsible for planning low-voltage systems, automation solutions and instrumentation for process plants. You work closely with project managers, process engineers and external partners in an international environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan low-voltage systems and motor distribution for process plants
- Design and specify automation and visualisation solutions
- Prepare instrumentation specifications and associated documentation
- Program and configure PLC and SCADA systems (for example Siemens S7 and WinCC)
- Define and configure industrial bus systems (for example PROFINET or PROFIBUS)
- Clarify technical details with customers and suppliers
- Contribute to electrical and automation concepts within an international project team
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting on site, together with engineering and operations teams
Your profile
- Completed education in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics or a similar field
- Several years of professional experience in industrial or process-plant engineering
- Confident handling of low-voltage distribution, motor control and instrumentation
- Experience programming freely programmable controllers and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of industrial bus systems (for example PROFINET / PROFIBUS)
- Ideally experience in the field of explosion protection (ATEX) or willingness to familiarise yourself with the topic
- Structured, reliable working style and strong sense of responsibility
- Enjoy working in interdisciplinary project teams and communicating with customers and suppliers
- Good English skills for international projects; German skills are an advantage
Desirable
- Experience with project-management tools (for example MS Project, Primavera or similar)
- Experience in chemical process engineering or related process industries
- Familiarity with current standards and safety regulations in electrical and automation engineering
